Direction of Use
- Select one of the three provided male fittings (1/4″ SAE Male, 1/2″-20 Male or 3/8″ SAE Male) to be mounted onto the female 1/8″ female pipe fitting on top of the VPASU Body.
- Apply small amount of thread sealant onto the 1/8″ male pipe thread on the selected male fitting. Â Hand tighten the selected male fitting into the VPASU body.
- Use a back-up wrench to secure the VPASU body while using another wrench to do the final tightening of the elected male fitting.
- For vertical pump ports go to Step 7
- For horizontal vacuum ports, select one of the 90 degree fittings. Apply a small amount of sealant to the 1/16″ male pipe thread of the 90 degree fittings. Tighten the 90 degree fitting into 1/16″ female pipe thread on the bottom of the VPASU. To complete assembly go to Step 7.
- For angled vacuum pump port, select both of the 90 degree fittings. Apply a small amount of sealant to the 1/16″ male pipe thread of the first 90 degree fitting. Tighten the 90 degree fitting into the 1/16″ female pipe thread provided on the bottom of the VPASU. Apply a small amount of sealant to the 1/16″ female thread on the first 90 degree fitting. Note: Adjust the positioning of the 1/16″ female pipe thread on the 2nd 90 degree fitting to match the angle of the vacuum pump post with the VPASU body in the vertical position
- Select one of the three provided female swivel fittings (1/4″ SAE Female, 1/2″-20 Female, or 3/8″ SAE Female).
- Apply a small amount of thread sealant onto the 1/16″ male pipe thread on the selected female swivel fitting. Use a 5/32″ Allen wrench to install into the 1/16″ female pipe thread on either the VPASU body or the 90 degree fitting.
- The VPASU is now ready to install onto the vacuum pump.
- The VPASU is a gravity directional device. The arrows around the collar of the VPAS must be pointing up.
- VPASU device and vacuum pipe are now ready to be used.
